I've tried several places, but have struck out locating a retail source for Dow 795 caulk to bed my replacement ports. I can go and buy the items in Northern California (Alameda, San Francisco or Sacramento), or do it by email. WM and Sailnet apparently do not have it available. I left a message with Dow Corning, but have not yet heard back. Any other ideas? Sanders LaMont slamont@sbcglobal.net Good News

Northwest Source and links

If you can't find anything locally this is where I get my Dow sealant: Distributor: Atlas Supply Kari in hardware? http://www.atlassupply.com Seattle office: 611 S Charleston St Seattle WA 98108 (206) 623-4697 (800) 347-5767 20 year life. Minimum order $25. Technical Service (800) 521-3168 Dow Corning Corporation Midland, MI 48686 Phone: 800-248-2481 Web Site: www.dowcorning.com For info, you might check with the supplier but I'd recommend you go with the 795 instead because they told me it was better. Also, for outside application, if you have a color choice go with black over white because it has better UV inhibitors. Hope this helps.

Call them and ask for Parts.

Sanders: They do not advertise their parts catalog. You just need to call them and ask them for whatever you are looking for. I think that their price is under $6.

Er....... make that 995

Sanders, I appologize. I made a goof in my previous post. I meant "995" vice "795". Anyway, when you talk to the people you're buying the sealant from be sure to ask them about 795 vs 995. Hunter sells 795 but I went with the 995 based on the distributors product knowledge and recommendation. They might not build boats but they guy I talked to behind the counter knew one heck of a lot about sealants and Dow sealants was one of their specialties. I even talked to the Pacific Northwest area Dow tech-rep and he recommended 995 too.
