back in 2003 when I was outfitting Dreamboat, partly because we bring our dog along and there was no traction on the wood floors for her. I sent them patterns and got back edge bound rubberbacked carpets cut to fit each area. They still look great. Not inexpensive but my teak and holly soles look brand new.
They have runners at a very reasonable price. You'll prob'ly have to buy some non-skid backing to glue onto 'em, but that's very inexpensive too. I used the rubber shelf liner from Walmart.
