Hi There;
I am a fairly new member on this forum(2012), and currently own a Sirius 21 on Lake of the Woods. (Sail# 571) Up to now, we've mostly used her for day sailing, and some sail camping trips( the swing keel certainly makes it easy to sail up onto a beach, then tie her up) but we'd like a little more room when the weather or mosquitos are particularly unpleasant. I was wondering if anyone had a pop-up cover, or the pattern for one, to give us standing headroom on iffy nights?
Thanks;
Dave

You could take the boat to a sail maker or canvas worker, step the mast and have him make one to fit. That is what I was going to do but now after 15 years of ownership I am not sure that is ever going to happen. Somehow we get by without it.

This is probably the best photo I have of the OEM poptop cover. Zipper out front at the mast and two zippers in back that follow the angle of the companionway with flaps on either side that snap along the backside cabin wall. The snaps along the cabin top run about one inch inside the handrails. If you are going to make it yourself I could get it out and take measurements of the panels....you would have to extrapolate from there to account for seams and such. Like Shanester says you have to have the mast up to put the top up and get a proper fit and for measurements.
The first year we had the boat in 1985 we spent one week in the Apostle Islands without the cover and the wife ordered it as soon as we got back. I think it was $200 at the time. Wouldn't be without it. Don't know how you did it all these years Shanester.:D
Have thought about Lake of the Woods but I keep getting sidetracked by Lake Superior.:D I know they have the big August regatta but it's too much of a crowd for my tastes...I would go either before or after when I do finally make it up there.

Popup Cover

Excellent photo! It looks like I'm going to have to make it myself( more accurately have someone make it for me, as I'm sure I'd make a Frankencover out of it) I you could get me the measurements, I'd be extremely grateful, as I'd really like to be able to stand up under cover when we're moored. Thanks again;
Dave
