Looking for a cheap slip on Chesapeake

I am buying a boat and am looking for a convenient slip on the west side of the bay between about Pax River and Annapolis to keep the boat until at least next Spring. May leave it there permanently if it is the right place. I will be commuting from Northern VA to the boat to sail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How about coming down to the Potomac off of the 301? My GF's family owns Scuttlebutt Marina and Pirates Den Marina on Cobb Island. Very good slip fee, 30A and 50A, fuel, water and plenty of depth. Plus the marinas are pretty much protected from the weather from almost all angles, especially the normal southerly that we get. Lots of sailing with no crowds.

We keep our boat at Herrington Harbour North and love it there http://www.herringtonharbour.com/ . It's much more affordable than Annapolis. The family that has the slip beside us drives from Northern Virginia and they are there almost every weekend. Hope this helps.

X-ray and McZube,

Thanks for the info. I have heard of Herrington Harbor. I looked at South. Why did you choose the North? I hadn't considered the Potomac. I kind of wanted to stay in the Bay. I will think about that.

We choose North because it's full service (3 travel lifts), lots of space and because it's a little quieter and has a family atmosphere. South seemed like more of a party atmosphere and it seemed like parking could become an issue if there's a wedding taking place.
