Have you checked in trucking the boat? I suspect it will be cheaper. Captain rates are $300-500 a day plus crew and expenses, fuel dockage, pumpouts, etc. From NY Florida will take a month or more depending on weather.

Weather conditions aren't favorable this time of year for such a trip. Welcome to the forum!

Can anyone give me some shipping companies that are reasonable? Or does anyone have a sailboat trailer i can rent?

William, Welcome to the Forum.
With what looks like a boat named "No Worries" why not sail it down the ICW yourself...

If memory serves, Tropical Shipping has weekly or bi-weekly sailings from NJ to FLA and rates are much cheaper than overland. You'd probably need to provide a cradle or trailer and they will tell you everything you'll need to do to ship the mast.

I am thinking that at this time of the year you are a little late to make the trip. From those I know who have done it, you can count on mechanical issues as it is mostly motoring. Considering the cost of repairs, a skipper, etc. you might be better off just buying a Cat 27 already in Florida.

Did you get an acknowledgement from the OP? Just curious.
Sorry for the delay, Justin, we've been travelling. I thought I received a reply, but in double-checking, it looks like I did not.

No worries. I was just curious how serious the OP was.
What are you doing on Okinawa?? Our Marine squadron was detached there for about a week back in the mid 70s. Then we airlifted back onto the Midway returning to Japan. I was very young of course, but I was glad to get off that rock!
