Hunter 410 3 Plattsburgh Boat Basin
Hi, I'm having a little challenge in finding a used 110% genoa sail in relatively good condition for a 2000 Hunter 410.
must have the navy blue sunbrella UV strip.
I've checked www.baconsails.com and others but can't seem to find one.
I've tried checking on this forum but it proves to be quite a challenge.
I want to avoid the extra cost associated with a brand spanking new sail if I can avoid it.

thanks

If buying a used sail ya need to be more flexible on 110% I see it's a 50' x 17.5' with #6 fluff tape but ya need to measure rig and see what you can work with but that's a big sail and big means not that many if you can find something bigger a sailmaker can cut down to a exact 110

Other than cost, why used? Used sail is, ah used. If you are going to own a $100K boat you should be able to buy a new sail.

I've spent quite a few hours searching used sail inventories for the present and prior boats w/o much luck. I ultimately did find one genoa for a good price off a Cal-40 of some number of years past that I could use in Sunday afternoon beer-can racing. Other than that, I've gone new. It hurts only a little--first when you get the quote, and then when you write the check! After that, you really enjoy the new sail and wonder what took you so long to have so much fun! That earlier "pain" recedes quickly. So, I agree with Sailgunner. Moreover, most used sails appear overpriced in my opinion.

For head sail I prefer used for one never seen a used one bagged out as bad as used main . On my newest boat it came with a high clew maybe 95% contacted Bacon the wanted $5000 for what I thought I wanted checked there online loft called them and must have caught at right time because bought 3 used one they modified one [cut down] for $1500
