Looking at buying a 1983 28'

I'm looking at buying a 1983 Hunter 28. I would like any feedback from owners about key items to look for aside from rigging,bottom or engine. In general has it been a good boat. Will be using it in bays and gulf overnighting on weekends.

83 28????

I thought 28' came along in 89. If you mean 83 27' It's a great boat for what you are talking about. If on the other hand you mean a 93 28'. Blahhhhh!

We have a 85' 28.5. Injoy inland lake sailing and weekending at the lake. The only major problem is with the upper form for the rudder bearing. The fiberglass has split and craked and will need the be reglass on our boat. We have own our boat for three years and never have looked back.
