Sunfish 13 NC
My current sailboat is a sunfish, and my wife has been wanting me to upgrade to something a little larger that we can both fit comfortably in. I just saw a 1976 O'Day 15 for sale with a trailer on Facebook marketplace. I'm wondering what issues I need to look for when considering an O'Day 15 this old. I would really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance!

As general rule of sailboat stewardship and marital harmony, you should ALWAYS buy a bigger sailboat if that is what your wife is asking for. You should have it in the driveway already.

if it were I, the first thing i would do is throw out the sails and get new ones. they are toast! no good. not even maybe.

new sails will make it a sailboat again

my $0.02. i've done this with every used boat i have bought

As former dealer, I would sugggest seeing the boat to inspect it as it is a 47 year old boat to include trailer, running and standing rigging, sails, mast, dagger/swing centerboard and so on. Cold be a repair boat
