Looking at a Ranger 33

I am taking a look at a 1976 Ranger 33 next weekend. The boat has a good sail inventory, and appears to be well cared for. Any issues with this model that I should be aware of, or look for? It has the Atomic 4 gasoline engine. I would prefer a diesel, but the A4 engine is reliable from what others have told me. Anything I should check with the engine? The asking price is $17,500. Any thoughts on the price given it has the gas engine? Any advice on this one would be much appreciated.

price too high

asking price is too high. i would make an offer of 14,000. see what happens. would not goover 15,500.be sure to get survey.

R33 Mast Step

My 1977 ranger 33 had a rotton mast step when I bought it. Even after a dry summer, there is still/always water standing in the bilge around the step. I put a butter knife through it during the survey. Surveyor didn't catch it. The bench seat cock pit drains are non-functional. And, I'm really happy I found a R33 with a diesel and a wheel. I paid $22k five years ago.
