There Are Very Few Boats
That garner as much loyalty from their owners as the 37c; especially if you factor in the amazingly low price they go for!!! Check out the many posts on this site.We purchased our 1981 37c in 1988; we moved aboard that year.....we were sitting in the den of our house.....my wife said, "Dave, what's the cat playing with?" I checked and sheepishly said, "Sorry Honey, it's a cockroach!"...."I'm outa here", she says, "I don't live with cockroaches! When this place is fumigated, I'll be back. Meanwhile, we're sleeping on the boat." We'd only had the "new" boat 3 months, but we took our sleeping bags and stuff down to the marina.Sixteen years later, we're still living on our 37c, and I really thank that 'roach! After 13 years at the marina, we cut the lines and left. We're now living in Avalon, on Catalina Island; we've been here almost 3 years, and we couldn't be happier!!!! The boat is a great boat! It's a great home!!! We live on the hook or a mooring, so the boat really must perform! Each and every day, we use the boat, her systems, her features, we use it all on a daily basis; not just on the weekends during a short sailing season.....24/7/365!!Things like leaky ports (replaced), bad holding tank (still holding under DAILY use!), mushy decks (one place near the mast that's been unchanged for 16 years), you name it, the boat was built well using good materials, designed by a GIFTED designer, and it can be had at a great price!! What else do you need? Grab it!
