RWB Sym - shopping

Hello Paul, Thanks. I was on the site earlier today pricing an ASym. I found their articles quite good. I am almost certain now that I will install the foot blocks similar to what you have done. Sometimes when I tack with the 150 Genoa the sheets are flying all over the place. It doesn't bother me too much but sometimes it intimidates some of the other people sailing with me. I would imagine that it tames the process down somewhat. I think they would also be good for the ASym. When I look at the brochure pictures for the 309 it appears that they are using a block attached to the stern pulpit railing at the aft end of the gate. similar to the picture in one of the responses to your earlier post. At this point, I am just looking at options. It's snowing here today. We have about 2-3 inches of accumulation. Hopefully the rain will carry it away tomorrow. It's depressing! Regards, Chris

I agree, they use a block and 8mm line as I recall. http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=vtKnn7Hqgo8&feature=related paulj

Size of RWB spinnaker

Hello Paul, Just wondering if you know which size of RWB spinnaker you are using. The site suggests the 08 while using the measurements, I would have thought the 07. Regards Chris

You need to be very careful with foot blocks

so that the new lazy sheet doesn't hock up and create a small kink or knot of its own as the sheet runs out. When tacking, the helmsman should be assigned to assure that the line runs free through the foot block. Without a foot block there's enough room to the jib track fairlead that knots rarely occur.
