No day to work on the boat

Things were slow at work today. I was thinking of heading down to the yard to work on the boat. The car was blowing all over the road. Wouldn't be fun!

40 knot winds, with gusts as high as 53!!!!

Your average wind speed and barometric pressure are within acceptable parameters for sailing but the steepness and short duration of the waves are off the scale. I would stay home. The Long Island Sound is preety deep yet those waves look like they are coming out of much shallower waters. Where is the weather bouy located?

I dont think there are many boats out on the sound this time of year. Nor are there many
boats sailing North or east of LI sound in Jan.

It doesn't look that bad just another shitty day up north.
Here we go you should be feeling warmer now.
I should have moved to Florida 30 years ago and when Charlie
came through my house and roof were OK.
