I will be at a conference in Glen Cove NY during the 2nd week of May. I will be able to do a Thursday night, Friday, Saturday in the area and was wondering if any sailors with local knowledge could point me to an area charter operator. Website links would be great if you have them. I'm hoping boats are in the water and the weather will be warm and Sunny. I was at the same conference last year with constant drizzle and cold temps. ken, is that the Harrison House Conference Center near Morgan's Island? Very nice place with great food. Anyway the Waterfront Center in Oyster Bay has all sizes of boats for rental and charter. If you get a chance take a ride on the Christine, formerly an oyster boat now used for tours and education. A worthwhile trip. We also race in Oyster Bay on Wed. nites. If you're up for it you could join our fearless crew for a beer can race and an after race cocktail at the club. http://www.thewaterfrontcenter.org/rentals.html

Ken, I took an ASA live-aboard bareboat charter course with the New York Sailing School located just across the sound from Glen Cove i New Rochelle .I took it in a Mirage 30 which they still have and is a nice boat. They do rent it out for overnights, and it may well be commissioned by the time you are in the area. They also have a Mirage 27,and smaller boats. They are nice folks, so you might want to contact them. Link attached. Weather is a little dicey that early, but worth a try. Roger Cape Cod
