I am looking for something to replace the worn out or missing rubber bumpers that the cockpit lockers close on. I can't seem to find them at the local marine stores. The rubber bumpers about the size of a dime and 1/2 inch high that are held in place by a screw. If anyone knows where to secure such or a good material to substatute for them, please pass along the information.

here's what worked for me...

Hi John, I had the same experience. My old bumpers were rock hard and caused the hatches to vibrate under motor. I could not find direct replacements at the marine store...and if I could, they probably would have cost a lot. For the next best thing, I went to Home Depot and found white rubber bumpers (for the bottom of chairs). They size out at 7/8 inch in diameter and 3/8 in height. They also have a screw hole in the center. One bumper alone was too short and two bumpers combined was to high. I simply filed one down on a grinding wheel to achieve the proper overall height. This has worked great and eliminated the locker hatch vibration...a simple and economical fix!

Many folks claim that ACE Hardware

is their BEST marine store. Not a bad INITIAL source for anything you need for your boat.
