Does anyone know the location of the fluxgate compass for a Raymarine wheel autopilot on a Hunter 356 might be? Have purchased a used 2003 model Hunter 356 and can not locate the fluxgate compass

Fluxgqate location
This gizmo will be somewhere along the center line of the boat down low. Mine is inside a saloon settee. They are about three or four inches round and extend a couple of inches out. I think they're fully enclosed. Flat black in color. It took me a while to find. They can be hidden so look thoroughly. Make sure they aren't near anything magnetic that will interfer with a correct compass reading. John Richard s/v Jack's Place

Fluxgate Compass
The compass is located at the centerline just aft of the stern tube. You needto remove the aft stateroom bedding,lift up the covers that expose the shaft and look aft. It is just forward of the divider between the aft lockers and the stateroom. Why are you looking for it?

356 fluxgate location
It can be anywhere, should be as near as possible to the center of the boat as has been said. Ours is mounted under the nav station

Fluxgate compass location
We also have a 2003 H356. Fluxgate compass is in area under port side setee at forward end of aft compartment. Pretty easy to see when you open the cover.

Also check in the aft swim lockers on the vertical forward section. That's were ours is, and we always have to check that no metal objects are near it.
