Location of Beneteau HIN #

I just purchased a 2000 Beneteau 36 cc. In the state of Texas I'm required to take a picture of or pencil trace the HIN #, since the boat was purchased out of state, to pay the taxes and register the boat in Texas. The boat is coast guard documented. I've searched all over the hull, the transom, deck and lockers to find the number. I've seen hundreds of boats with the number stamped on the starboard side. The boat was built in France. I did find the hull # stamped into the port side of the hull (299). All of my paper work has the HIN #. So does anyone know where the HIN # would be on this boat?

Can I ask how you like the CC? Is it much different to sail than a regular cockpit boat? It looks like allot of getting up and down if you back into a slip. I mean, up onto the boat and up over the cabin, down into the cockpit and down into the cabin...(up, up, down, down)

In US-made B323, if you remove the battery box under the engine cover, the HIN is molded in the floor pan.

I also have a Beneteau 36CC. Until last year, i could not find the HIN number. While polishing the boat, i came across it. It is situated on the hull just below the starboard rear cleat. Maybe 5-8 inches down and 5-8 inches back towards the stern. It is very difficult to see. Very faint. I could only see mine once i used compound on the hull. It also helps if you look at an angle. You need to get very close.

Hi,

Confirm what vimocam said...it will be on the STBD aft area normally below the cleat - this is something that they HAVE to put in the mould when they are forming the hull. I have also seen them behind the main electrical breaker panel, or, on one of the engine bed supports.

Finding41. I really like the boat. The below deck layout is awesome, comporable to 38+foot boats I was looking at. She sails fine. You are a ways from the stearn when backing into a slip.
