Sure this has been done before in some form...I made a bottom scrubber out of 1.5" PVC. Handle is about 4' long and goes to a 45 bend and then another 2' to a Tee. The other Tee extensions are 1" and about 18" long and just fit inside swim noodles for flotation. Wrapped some synthetic indoor/outdoor carpet remnants around the noodle. Handle lengths vary per boat...
POOL NOODLE.... thats the answer!!!
Ive wondered what I could slip over the fiberglass extension handle of my bottom scrubber to hold/float the brush up against the bottom so I could just scrub away without needing to hold it up against the hull.

It would be nice to see a photo of what you have designed to scrub the bottom... it sounds as if it may work better than a long broom handle;)

image.jpeg image.jpeg Obviously, the handle would rotate 90 deg. I only glued one half of the 45 and both extensions. This makes it more portable And stowable. The pressure fit of the other fittings seems to work.

Fenders attached horizontally to the dock; one less thing to deal with on return. Others on board for away docking. Fleece covers on the fenders silence the creaking sound of gel coat rubbing on vinyl at night. Rubber snubbers on the bow and stern dock lines act as shock absorbers and make for a smooth night at dock on windy nights.
