I have no idea what they are called. I need the rubber things that fills the holes securing the shrouds to the mast. Any one know what they are called and where I can get them? Cost? Thanks, Mike

T Plugs

They have been called T-plugs, Gibb T-plugs or Gibb plugs. There are different sizes. I got some at a marina parts room. If the marina deals with a fair number of sailboats they should stock them.

Inserting T-plugs

Does anyone know the trick to inserting the T-plugs into the mast, getting them out is hard enough but getting them in is tough.

T-Plugs

They are supposed to be hard to insert. Make sure you have the right size. I've used pulling wire grease (the stuff electricians use when pulling wire thorough conduit) for jobs like this.

Liquid Soap

I found that liquid hand soap works fairly well to get the plugs in. That and a lot of force. As George said- make sure they're the right size.

Makes for good pulling compound on small jobs, when this electrician can't locate "wire pulling grease". Then there is hair conditioner...I'd tend to avoid soap for it is detergent and might compromise the rubber. What? Mark Major s/v <=> '86H23
