Our P42 has a Little Giant P512 sea water pump that delivers water to the two heat pumps. Well it stopped running for the second time, this time for good. The motor spins but the pump head is what's failing. A local shop thnks he can rebuild it for half of retail, which new runs over $300. I'm looking for a source for this pump but at a better price. Marine Air does not sell direct. Any ideas? Terry

P512 model number?

I took a quick look at the Little Giant website and could not find a model P512 pump. Are you sure of that number? Is it a Marineair number instead of Little Giant? I am sure that you can find a MUCH better price if you check with pump distributors. How about your local plumbing shop? HD? Lowes?

Little Giant pump

You might want to try to locate an industrial distributor for little giant pumps. They are generally much lower than an OEM(marine air) who intern works through a distributor to you. Everyone takes a cut! good luck

Pump that would work

Terry, All you need is a pump that can pump 9 to 10 gpm. A pump like this can be found for around $150. Here are a couple of links. You could probably do better via a Google Search. Boat US has a pump that would work at Link: http://www.boatus-store.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=20002&langId=-1&catalogId=20002&productId=24693 The 95035 Little Giant pump from US Plastics should work. Their Link is: http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=USPlastic&category%5Fname=Little+Giant%AE+Pumps&product%5Fid=Little+Giant%AE+Seal%2DLess+Magnetic+Drive+Pumps Bill Opps the US Plastics link will have to be copied and pasted to work.

Thanks for the tips. P512 is not the model ...

number, which I left on the boat. Terry
