Our Hunter 336 lists to the starboard. Cant find the reason why. Could there be a weight distribution difference with storage, or tanks?

My H376 leans a little to starboard too. Both fuel tank and the galley are on the SB side + 1 xtra 4D house battery. I assume it's a weight distribution issue.

Usually in posts like this, someone will suggest adding lead weight to even the trim. I always reply that the best lead weight anyone can add is batteries. :)

is the boat empty and cleared out of all gear, personal items, tools and extra rigging such as sails, line and anchors?

when the boat is empty, how does it set in the water?.... if its trim, then load it accordingly to keep it trim.

if the boat is not trim, then you can either do like Stu suggested and add some useful permanent ballast, or just load all the stuff that you want back on board so that the boat becomes trim as it takes on weight....

the tanks (fuel, sanitation, freshwater), whether full or empty at approx 7.5-8lbs per gallon will absolutely affect trim and there is nothing you can do about it except adjust the gear around in the boat as you empty one tank and fill another.... and depending on where you sail and the sea conditions this could be a necessity, but it may be bit extreme for the average day sailing....

My 380 lists just slightly to port. I think it is because there is a place for a generator on the starboard side inside the stern locker...but I have no generator. Adding batteries for ballast and extra capacity seems smarter to me than adding a generator. However, the list is so slight the only time I notice it is after a rain when there is standing water on my stern step....so not much motivation.

My Passage 42 lists to port also, I think it is due to 70 gallon water tank under port side settee

I am late to the conversation, but our 336 has the same problem and we have noticed it on others on the lake. As Bob Hanes suggested, we really have put all beverages on the port side! My husband is talking about lead (or batteries, like someone else suggested) to even it out. But, we've had it four years and haven't done anything except keep the beverage supply stocked up and put life jackets and lighter things on the starboard side.
