Ring of fire depth sounder - fond memories. Great fun when it's shallow as you have two depths displayed because of the echo

The Navstar looks just like my Decca that I threw out because it was obsolete. Hopefully you have the GPS version. The numbers are all that you need. By the sound of it, you'll have the user guide somewhere that will tell you how to program waypoints.

I suspect it will assigned to the skip and replaced with something
that has pictures!

Oh dear. If the Navstar is GPS, and it has RS232 output, you can plug it
into a laptop running OpenCPN to give you a chart plotter for free.

You don't need pictures for the depth sounder.
