Sovereign 17 sand & tumbleweeds
Land locked as I am, a sailor at heart. Looking for a 25-26' trailer-able late 80s-late90s. I think I'm after a Hunter, but have only this "Toshiba Marina" & you folks blessed w/ water for advice, so maybe a Cat, not too sure about a Mac, maybe O Day or S2. Any help would be appreciated.

Whats the concensus on the Mac 26X, sure it looks like a sailboat & can get out of weather fast. Kuddos, but it seems maybe to have given up some sailboat to do this? Am I wrong? Is the trailer really worthy w/o modification to tandem? .

Catalina 1999 C36 MKII #1787 Coyote Point Marina, CA.
I Have a 1984 Hunter 25.5. Beam is 9' 1", shoal keel draft 3' 6", tiller and outboard. I installed roller furling and I sail in San Francisco Bay with 20knot winds not unusual. With a shallow draft I have been able to enter most marinas at low tide. A 6' draft would not be able to. It is a tralerable boat and I have the trailer. Dropping the mast is easy. It is a bit tender due to the fact that is a shoal keel and does not tack easily in high winds. I highly reccomend it. Older boats are made better. It includes 2 burner alchol stove and a porto-potty. The dining room table drops and becomes a bed. Take a look at one. I definitley do not like Mac.
