lifting the H23

I guess I'm on a roll so here's another question. I'm planning to paint the bottom of my H23 on the trailer this winter. I'd like to lift it off the bunks to paint that section. Any ideas for how to lift it...........where it's safe to put jacks?

Try using the trailer

I used this trick once and it worked out fine. Lower the tounge jack of the trailer as far as possible, then block up the stern of the boat. Raise the front of the trailer using the tounge jack and as you do the stern will lift off the trailer bunks. block up the bow and lower the tounge jack enough to give you access to the bottom for painting. Just make sure you do a good job of blocking. I used cement blocks on each side and a 6X6 beam across them. Good luck.

Bottom painting under the bunks of an H23

At the beginning of this season I bottom painted with Interlux E2000 and VC17. Needing to get under the trailer bunks, I built four simple stands from 4x4's, a short piece of 1x8 and some scrap carpeting. I positioned the stands at the bulkheads and secured them to the trailer with 3/8" line. Does this work with a swing keel?

I checked out Mike's picture in the photo forum - looks great! Has anyone tried this setup with a retractable centerboard?
