My 2005 36 is ready for bottom paint and I've been told to use a yard with a travel lift. The best yard around has a rail lift which will put some weight on the keel. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

should be no problem as long as they block her carefully to avoid putting any stress on the tail of the keel. Those of us with 356/36s who suffer through cold winters on the hard store our boats resting on the keel with no problems

Keel

Hunter designs and builds their boat keel to support the entire weight of the boat. Jack stands need to be used around the boat hull to keep her stable. Quality yards should know this routine. Perhaps you should ask the lift operator and/or crew to verify this process. Your boat will need a stand at the bow and stern, plus at least three on each side of the hull spaced evenly. The keel should rest on wooden blocks placed in about the center of it.
