Good information here. It is good to know that you have an Amazon storefront with tested stuff. I will benchmark that for future use.

I read your article on the Power Queen debacle. I fully agree that an LFP in a sealed case with no Bluetooth connection is a terrible idea. That is why I do not like the Battle Born batteries. I have heard of too many that have dropped to 50% of rated capacity because they cannot be charge to more than 13.6v without the BMS disconnecting.
I really like that this new mine is BT and that the case can be opened. When I got my sealed 460Ah battereis, one of them had an imbalance of +300mv at 13.7v and tested at only 445Ah. Because it had a JBD BMS with BT I was able to turn off charge balance so that it balanced when it was NOT being charged. I then charged it up until the highest cell got to 3.60v and turned off the charge and discharge FETs and let is balance for the next 24-hours. After doing this daily for a few weeks, I was able to get the imbalance down to 50mc at 14.2v. I then tested capacity again and it came to 480Ah.
Now at the beginning of each year, I do the passive balancing a few times and they are good for the season.

I am by no means an early adopter. I like testing things too.

But by the next time I need a battery, the knowledge base will have grown even farther, and the cost/value balance will have swung farther, so it seems unlikely I will ever buy lead again, other than for my car. Lead still works for dumb, sub-freezing-capable starter batteries.
