Gate Eye.
Harold:I would suggest that you place a gate eye at the last stanchion. Then you can either reverse the area from the stanchion to the stern pulpit or leave it as is. If you reverse it (as we did) it make opening the boarding gate easier because you do not have to reach back to the stern to do it. These gate eyes need to be swedged on. So you can decide if it is time to completely replace all of your life lines or just do a fix.Regardless, the life lines will then stay tight when the gate is opened. I also did this several years ago after getting the life lines caught around my ankles when jumping off the boat.
