I have a 1986 Hunter 34. I need a replacement lifeline stanchion. The stanchion is a stainless tube with two holes punched about midway up (for the lower lifeline) and at the top is welded on a stainless "tube" approximately 3/4" long for the upper lifeline. Hunter only has the "new" style with a black plastic cap for the upper. The original manufacturer in Sweden doesn't make the part anymore. Anyone out there with some suggestions?? Thanks.

I might suggest taking a stanchion to a machine shop (or even the nearest Vo-Tech school) and see if they can fabricate a duplicate. You might have to supply the stainless tubing but I am sure they can make the cap.
