Lifeline Nuisance

I am normally an easy going guy, but when something starts bugging me, I can't it let go, until I have exhausted all reasonable possibilities of improving the source of the irritant. In this case, its the interference with the bottom of the Genoa (150% CDI Furler) and the Lifelines, during most "Points of Sail." I get focused of this situation and try like mad to clear the problem and lose site of what I trying to do. I thought that I could correct the problem by pulling the Genoa all the way up the furler, but this created a Sail Trim problem. So, as the attached Pics show, I lowered the Lifelines about 6 inches on the Bow Pulpit rail. Of course this required shortening the Lifelines. The Top pic shows the three 3/8 SS nuts, that I used as spacers to further shorten the Lifelines after I ran out of travel on the Turnbuckles. The bottom pics shows the new position of the Lifelines. On a scale of 1-10, it is now 6, not perfect but much better and probably something I can live with. Note, I didn't want to permanently change the length of the Lifelines, at least at this point>

Here is the final picture of the Lifelines with them shorten even further to improve the clearance problem. I had to shorten the original Lifelines by 4.5 Inches to get the results I wanted. This did the job! I've seen many other manufactures, including Catalina, that have their Lifelines in the lower position. I wonder why Catalina didn't do this from the get go! Its not rocket science.
