I would like to tighten the life line posts on my Hunter 38 , 2006. Do we have to remove all the interior ceiling to be able to reach the nut?
Thank you for your help.

a. If it is loose, you probably need to remove it and re-bad. It is almost certainly leaking.
b. Search "stanchion" and you will find many threads.

Re. Hunters, I'm sorry, but I do not know. Best of luck.

Your hunter will likely have an embedded aluminum plate that the stanchion bolts thread into. If you have any nuts on the stanchion bolts I would expect that to be something the previous owner had done. I would concur about rebedding the hardware - get some of Mainesails butyl tape to do the job.

If stock setup mostly likely no nut just threaded metal plate embedded in fibreglass. If thread is striped you may need to rethread one size up and use new upsize screw.
