Lido 14 Beaver lake
Hi guys..Im considering buying a Lido 14.I don't know much about her but I believe she is 1994 with al rigging but rough looking main and jib sails.
She looks like she has a swing keel, rudder tiller,40 pound trust trolling motor. I did look at her bottom side and seen no apparent damage. She sets on a fairly nice looking trailer.
Is $550.00 to much to pay for her?
Can anyone give me some info on her?

The price sounds reasonable especially since a trailer is included. If the sails are shot, plan on more than doubling your initial cost to replace them. A new main and jib will cost upward of $860 plus tax and shipping, depending on the type of sail you select. (Racing or recreational) Check out this site for prices of sails and other bits you may need.

I overpaid for my first boat $1,500. Never regretted it. I don't think you're overpaying for a lot of fun you can have. You may not get the money back, or you may. But it will be well worth that amount for entertainment.

Even with new sails in the mix, that seems like a very good price.

Lots of people have learned to sail in a Lido. I hear they are good boats...

I used to own a Lido and enjoyed it. I think $550 is a good price, and it never hurts to have brand new sails. There is a store/site dedicated to the Lido (can't remember the name) and they occasionally have nice, used sets of sails for good prices.
