Hunter H260 Traverse City
The hatch on my H260 has scratches from being slid fwd and back. I think I eliminated the source of the scratches. But want to buff them out. Tried 600 sandpaper on a small portion. The more visible scratches disappeared but of course now I have a dulling of the surface. I've read that toothpaste and some other similar abrasives will bring the shine back. Any experience with this problem or did you just ignore it?

Cream

Use "cooking top polishing cream". You can buy it at your local appliance dealer. It is used to polish the glass top stoves.

Buffing compound

Automotive stores sell rubbing compounds that are meant to buff out light scratches. They come in different grits (coarseness)depending on your needs. They should be able to help guide you in the right direction. I buffed out some on my Lexan and they came out fine. Ward

Wet Sandpaper from automotive stores

It has been a while since I last posted. I would like to comment. Go to your local auto store and get wet sand paper. It comes in many grits. You can probably start out with a mirror fine grit. This is the most fine paper they sell. In fact, step one level up first and then work your way back to mirror fine. Dip the paper in water and then rub in circular motions. Don't be to quick to finish. Sit and polish for a good half hour or so with each grit. Then use the rubbing compound for another 5 or 10 minutes. Then wax. Trust me on this one. You will end up with a liquid glass looking surface. Long time since I last posted....but still here. Marina

Novus system

I would use the Novus system, check out this site's chandlery or WM. One will carry the product. There are three grades of polish cleaners and sealant. I used the three on my 20 year old ports, worked great.
