anyone have experience changing and resealing lexan deck windows on a 45cc? Caulking/rubber/silicone has dry rotted. Does the entire cowling cover come off?

See my recent post in the exterior/interior caulk Beneteau 423 thread from a few days ago. I attached a photo guide from Beneteau that illustrates removal and installation of a deck skylight. Don't have a clue as to what systems that Hunter used; however, Beneteau used a primer & adhesive to bed the lens and a silicone sealer to finish. (I also included the adhesive & sealer in the thread). Guess you could call hunter to find out what they used. Gotta be tough stuff as it's subject to flexing/compression of the deck and thermal expansion/contraction of dissimilar materials (acrylic vs polyester resin), and UV exposure. Mine lasted nine years before it leaked. I resealed it about 18 months ago per Beneteau's instructions; however, I didn't remove the lens completely, because of concerns of breaking it.

Just a possible FYI, it is likely acrylic rather than lexan. Unless, Hunter made a change in later years.

If I remember Hunter uses some kind of special sealer that is hard to get but maybe ask here in this forum or try Hunter.
