Was out sailing today when the port side winch literally exploded and came flying off the mount. Pretty scary. Turns out I found all the pieces and the culprit was the plastic ring at the top. It cracked and allowed the other parts to come off. My question is does anyone know what that ring is called and also I don't live near my boat and stupid me forgot to write down the winch number before I came home. I am pretty sure it is a #15 but maybe someobdy can confirm that. The starboard plastic ring is cracked too so I need to get 2 of them then figure out how to put them on.
