Lewmar Whitlock pedestal cracked stainless tube

I have a Hunter 356 2002 and the pedestal stainless tube has cracked on the port side where the wiring is run/snaked. Has any one experienced this?? How difficult is it to replace the tube. I expect it could snap at any time and need to jury rig a fix so I can complete the season. It is a Whitlock Lewmar Pedestal.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. If tube replacement isn't an option I may need to replace the complete pedestal.

On my 2007 -36 I am trying to remember that it was 2 pieces I think but
any way I think mine says Lewmar on it so maybe they took over and maybe you could contact Lewmar for a new one.

Be Careful - with this. They actually made two different pedestal tubes. one continuous, one split. I got caught up in this when I upgraded my chartplotter several years ago. See - http://www.ayesail.net/sailing/SailboatMods/H356Mods/GarminInstall/GarminInstallation.html

Mine is split. My son came up with a good workaround that will get me through the season

Mine is two pieces. I will look at my Hunter docs to see if they give me a part number. I have a good work around for the season it is real solid. How tough is this to replace??
