Lewmar ports

I have a '92 Passage with LEWMAR ports in the main stateroom and the windows are crazed. I think it is easy to cut replacement acrylic but to remove the parts is another story. So how about some advice? The hinges are simply Allen wrench and socket but how about the pivot locks? on the inside there is a plug that covers the screw head but pray tell how do you pop that plug out without destroying the whole pivot? Inquiring minds want to know .....

you have a nice boat.............
yes you can cut out a piece of plastic and silicone it in.........
but for the age of the boat....you may want to pull the the whole hatch and rebed it........

option.......pull the hatch and send it out to get repaired by a professional so it wont leak and it will increase the value of the boat.....

option.......price search for brand new ones....

Thanks Steve but do you know how to remove the rotating lock from the port glass? That is my big question. Sandy

If you have the old standard ports and portlight dogs like the ones in this picture, I have had luck removing the screw cover by placing two very small screwdrivers 180 degrees apart in the groove and prying upwards.

Be advised that the plexi used by Lewmar is not as thick as standard plexi sold here in the US. The thicker plexi will require machining in order to make the pivoting/seals to work properly. A local shop can probably machine the new lights for you, but by the time you pay for this you could just order new ones from Hatchmasters.
