I have a 2001 Beneteau 361 with Lewmar hatches. The two at the companionway entrance on the top of the cabin have hatch handles glued to the plexiglass of the hatch. On my port side the handle that pulls the hatch tight has separated from the plexiglass. I have tried all types of epoxy, rear view mirror glue, and 5200 with no luck adhering to the plexiglass. I used acetone to clean both surfaces and ruffed up the plexiglass, but nothing seems to hold to the plexiglass.

Does anyone have experience with this issue. Any suggestion of the type of glue to use would help. I have thought about using Gorilla glue because it is the most sticky stuff I have ever encountered, but I think I need a chemical bonding and I'm not sure how to get it done.

Have you tried contacting Lewmar with your specific hatch? They may have ideas that you need.

I had exactly the same problem 2 years ago. If I remember well I just used a glue suitable for plastics (I really don't remember which one but was nothing fancy) it worked just fine. Just let it dry for some hours before you use it.
