Tell your buddy, ON/OFF works wonders. At least the energy from one boat would transfer the other boat. In this case, they had no Plan B in the event of a stuck gear. I realize they would have crashed anyway. But crash and push the boat in front of them to the sea wall?

That's funny, I am willing to bet the Captain of that boat is from N.Y. On another note, here on the Jersey shore all the idiot drivers have that Empire State license plate on there car.
Don't know if you have ever been driving south on the Garden State Pkwy, toward A.C. check out those safe drivers with the N.Y plates.
Just thought I would throw my observation of drivers in. I personally think most drivers in the north east drive like S#@T.
