Hi,
My name is Tom, I'm a project junkie. All my life I aquire things and fix/refinish/rebuild things. I'm 55, a biker, a sailor, and part time A-hole! Actually I work as a telemetry engineer.... I'm married and have 3 kids, grown and sometimes gone..... Married for 30 years, lived on a trimaran which my son was born on in Anna Maria Island, Fl.
I have a Cheoy Lee B 30 in a cradle in the back yard and it's waiting for about $15,000 in loose change to rebuild. Of course, that didn't keep me from buying an '83 Hunter 22 when it came along at the right price 2 weeks ago. Yup, boat in a box, some assembly required!
I've done failry well at the cleaning, sorting, and figuring out what things need done first. I figure the way she sits, about $500.00 and I'll be able to get the sails up and start ringing her out.
I've done a bit of searching, and cant find the answer to one question I have..... The keel is off, and seems to have been reworked already. I found the end of the cable and padeye to connect to the keel, and the pulley with becket that connects to the line to haul it up. Unfortunatly, I only have about 6 inches of the cable, and I figure it might be a tad bit too short!
Would any of you fine sailors know what the length the cable needs to be? I'll be on the way to Westmarine to rig it up as soon as I can get the length, then it's install the keel and on my way to the ramp for a float check!

Thanks, Tom.

Have you tried contacting Hunter customer service for the answer?

Not yet, but that was going to be my next attempt at getting this done.

Thanks, Tom.
