I'm hoping for some guidance, has anyone ever heard of shortneing the LOA of a 37.5? My harbor rules say that I can only have a boat up to 37', not one millimeter over. My wife and I want this boat but may have to let it go. I can probably figure this out, but if someone has lived through it, I'd like to hear from you. Thanks for your time!

I would suggest that you try to convince them that they 37.5 is the model number, and let them determine the LOA.

PS: Which end do you want to cut off? <G>

I would allow the harbor to figure it out but I've been 'very inquisitive' with them about this topic, even wrote the harbor master...no luck. The stern is looking like a likely victim.

My H376, supposedly 37' 6" long, actually only measures 37' 3" over the hull - but the bow roller on its stainless extension adds another foot or so to this.
If you try to measure your boat you will find difficulty in getting an accurate length because the bow is high and the stern low.
Challenge the marina to measure it. If they want your business they will 'discover' that, in fact it measures exactly 37'. If they don't want your business then you are best not being there anyway.

Sure glad I don't live in Oceanside. What kind of bizarre rules maker dreamed this one up and for what possible reason?
My first thought was with Donalex, the bow roller will certainly remove the needed foot.
Let us know how things shake out.

Take the anchor off the bow roller to measure if you you have it mounted. You can put it back on after the official marina measurement.
A guy who bought my last boat had the pushpit modified to shorten the LOA by 6" for the same reason.
