Leisure 17 Fisherrow
Hi all - I have just acquired a Leisure 17. The boom was inside the cabin, no sails sadly. I have the original manuals but cannot find the gooseneck that attaches the Barton roller reefing boom to the mast. I can see from the drawings what it looks like but all internet searches have drawn a blank. Can anyone advise a replacement part I could use? Any other type of boat that might have used this type of gooseneck?

The 323 roller reefing system by Barton Marine appears to be a discontinued item. There appear to be several sites in England that are selling the reefing handle. Part# 21323.

I know it is a hobby to restore boats to their original design, which in this case may mean you will need to build your own part. You may find the part of drawings for the part from Barton Marine. There maybe one in a consignment shop or salvage yard.

If just going sailing is the goal, then check out the Dwyer spar shop. You may be able to use one of their goosenecks and modify your boom and the reefing to slab reefing on your boat. It would likely get you on the water more easily.
