I recently received the replacement solar panel and trim ring. When checking the fit, I noticed the old solar panel only has about an inch of wiring accessible. So, my plan is to open up the connecting box on the old panel to get access to a bit more wire. Also, the new panel has flat wiring. To make the connection, it seems I could solder it to a lead of conventional wiring with a shrink cover which will then provide the connection to the wiring run. (FYI, I long ago re-routed the output of this panel to my solar regulator that the other panels gang into.) So, your experience and what am I missing?
