Legend 41ac - autopilot

Me again!

My 41 doesn’t have an Autopilot (crazy I know), so I’ve just purchased the Raymarine Linear drive. The manual explains that it sits in a compartment accessed via the aft cabin port side which I have opened up. The guy fitting it hasn’t done a legend 41 before.

Do any of you kind chaps have photos of your installation from above and below that we could use for reference before we start making holes.

Would be a big help as this one has afforded me a few sleepless nights (particularly on the money I’ve just spent)

I do not have pictures but you might reach out to the staff here at SBO. The experts here worked constructing the Hunter line. You could get their construction in-site before to drill and cut holes in your pretty new boat.

Our fellow SBO member @JamesG161 nearly lost his Hunter SABA in a hurricane about 18 month ago. He has benefited from calls to the SBO staff to identify the structure of his Hunter and lead the restoration of his boat. He solved some issues that were not understood by the marina which is trying to put SABA back together again.

That particular thread is about a "Rotary Drive" installation rather than a Linear Drive. The 40.5 was specifically built to accept the rotary drive. Not sure that is the case for the 41.
