Legend 37 exhaust hose zip tied

Hello all,

I have a Legend 37 and I think the exhaust is similar to the Legend 37.5. I am looking to replace the hose and it appears to be zip tied to the inside of the grid frame. The hose enters the starboard grid right next to the packing gland and runs aft and exits just aft the fuel tank. The hose is zip tied to the inside of the grid and I can not seem to get to the ties to cut them. Has anyone figured out a way how to solve this issue without cutting access holes into the grid pan? I tried to replace my water hose to from the engine to the water heater and these hoses were zip tied too. Fortunately I was able to run the new hoses an alternate path. But unfortunately I am not able to do this with the exhaust.

You can wrap a thin stainless safety wire around the zip tie by making a long sided hook shaped similar to a bobby pin but longer. Slide the short open end past the tie then draw back that end under the zip until you can grab the loose end. pull the wire back so you can put a handle on each end (like a pull start rope)work the wire back and forth like a saw until the tie separates. Which goes to prove that safety wire isn't safe unless used properly. Save your new saw you can also it to cut ABS & PVC pipe.

btw would have said bailing wire but Iv'e already seen what a sailor can do to a perfectly good bucket

I really like the safety wire idea. I was thinking of getting a hook cutter and trying to fish it through that way, but fishing the safety wire around and back again sounds like it could work. I will try that. I emailed Hunter and they said they were out of ideas.
