We are seriously considering an upgrade to a Hunter Legend 35.5. One of the only issues giving us any pause over selecting this otherwise great boat is concerns over ventilation in the aft cabin. With only a single small opening port, it seems like it could get very stuffy back there on steamy summer nights (even with some small 12 volt fans for relief). I'm curious to hear from current and former owners whether this is as big of an issue as it seems like it could be and if there's anything short of adding A/C that can help make it better?

There is a small opening Lewmar port in the cockpit sidewall, and a larger hatch in the ceiling for ventilation.

If it rains, ventilation is poor. Earlier Hunters had dorade vents in the saloon.

We found the best heat deflection is the folding bimini top and the v berth hatch open with a sock.
Try a large fan unit in the magazine rack[12x12 opening] in the rear cabin to pull air out the lazarette seat vent or open lid.
