As part of my wet cell battery replacement (five years, sadly neglected when I broke my leg skiing in 2009), I'm going to replace my Blue Circle alternator. I've now had two of them. The first died when I noticed a crack in the housing where the big bolt comes through. The second, which Harv charged me full price for (!) is now chattering when I load it up after a night on the hook. I stop the scary noise by using the Small Engine Mode switch I added a few years ago. http://c34.org/bbs/index.php/topic,4669.0.html

Natch, Leece-Neville and your source in Washington State is where I'll be going (http://c34.org/bbs/index.php/topic,5686.0.html), page 2.

In your conversion article (http://c34.org/bbs/index.php/topic,4879.0.html) I noticed that the "plug" that comes with my Balmar MC-612 external regulator does not seem to be included in the conversion.

Is there a plug I can use to connect the field and tach on the back of the alternator, or do I have to cut the plug off the regulator wiring harness and just connect them with the ring terminals to the alternator as you show in the article?

M25 1986 engine.

Thanks,

Stu
