I've been e-chatting with an h430 owner about overhead attachment points for a lee cloth for the pilot berth on our respective boats. I'm hoping to construct a lee cloth similar to the one shown on p.130 of the October 99 Cruising World, which means I will need to install a single padeye overhead. A handrail is not an option because of all the hatches up there. I'm thinking of putting in four inch-and-a-quarter self-tapping screws to hold it, sealed with Marine-tex. My plan is to go through the headliner and well into the deck without emerging up there where the sun shines. Has anyone performed such an operation on a late-era Hunter with the new type of headliners? Any advice before I go drilling more holes in this boat?
