I would like to change out the current halogen lighting to LED's. Does the entire fixture need to be replaced as well? What about the Mast Light. Want to save energy and these are a drainer. Any product recommendations?

LEDS

Go to www.superbrightleds.com they have a great selection of LED bulbs that should fit your existing fixtures.

LEDs

I've changed "ALL" my lighting over to LEDs.. because we cruise, electrical use is a major concern. the for and aft lights can be changed out with bulbs.. Note that the replacement of these has to be a "white" for the rear and a "RED/GREEN" bulb for the front... If you install a white bulb in the front, your green is blue...... and make a note that there is a difference to weather the bulb is installed from the top or the bottom. The mast head light was replaced in total as there is a reflector and a night switch where the light goes off in day-light hours... I checked it out the other night and you can see the light for 2 miles.. Havent found a steaming light yet but I'm less concerned as the motor is on while steaming......

I just put in H4 LED's in the cabin today

and they are great, a bit whiter and not as yellow and not as strong as the halogen but cool to the touch and far more energy efficient I'm sure... the heat was most noticable and the light looks more than bright enough in the dark. the ones I have had 12 LED's I think and needed no change in the fixture at all, easy off and on. I'm planning on climbing the mast to find what bulb I have before ordering the LED, if anyone has a charleston spar 361 99 (or round that time) who knows what bulb is on top I'd sure appreciate a tip.
