Re: 1993 Hunter 33.5
Can anyone tell me the bayonet pin connection configuration for the saloon lights on this boat. I want to change out the florescent bulbs with LED's. The problem is I want to purchase the LED's before I go to the boat as I am in New Mexico and the boat is in Virginia. The pin connection is either offset or straight, I can't remember what is on the boat now. Thanks to all in advance.

Our 1991 Hunter has two styles of saloon lights, four inch surface domes mounted in the ceiling and bulkhead mounted reading lights. Both use a bayonet style plug, but the reading light is integrated but the domes use a LED panel wired to the plug.

Both use an indexed plug, neither were offset. Whether yours are like ours, good question?

Terry I recently posted a similar thread because our Hunter has the same lights as you. Someone must have already replaced your bayonet style incandescents with these , because I found the same ones in my search. How are they working for you?

I'm not sure what the OP means by bayonet style flourescents. They usually have pins or other contacts on the ends of the tubes.

Hi Justin, I did all the replacements myself. Just trying to reduce power consumption while on the hook. That was two or three years ago and very pleased with the results. Good quality product and dealer. I chose not to replace the fluorescent bulbs with LED type as the difference in power consumption versus costs was not justified at the time. If these fixtures stop working at some point I will replace them with LED.

Hello paul N jean.
I converted the 5 inch rounds to the leds and like them better its a much whiter light as my boat had several florecent lamps some I took out. and a couple of them I converted with a small led light bar just gutted the inside of the lamp installed the led light bar inside and use the original switch I think you would be happy with the leds no matter what style you chose. low power consumption and a brighter light below. I also changed my mast and nav lights too. I bought my intiorer lights from ebay but the nav lights I bought from a marine store more expensive but has the two mile rule they also last like 20,000 hours
