I have a hunter 44 deck saloon, it has two heads. I would like to fit a Lectrasan unit but the distance between the heads is too great to use one Lectrasan unit, therefore I may have to fit two. My question is: Would it be possible to fit one Lectrasan unit to the output of the holding tanks macerator. My idea being when the Manual toilets are flushed the waste goes into the holding tank and on start up of the Lectrasan, it would automatically switch on the macerator of the holding tank, ie pumping a small quantity of holding tank waste into the lectrasan for treatment, so on, until the Lectrasan discharges overboard?

It's possible, but you'd need to install...

Raritan's new "Hold 'n' Treat" system for it to work properly. Read all about it here: http://www.raritaneng.com/products/waste_treatment/index.html The "Hold 'n' Treat Controls" package can be used with your tank and existing macerator, but just putting a timer on your macerator to repeatedly send a gallon at a time to the L/S won't work, for a couple of reasons: 1. the system has to also start the L/S, which has to go through its 2.5 minute treatment cycle and shut down before the next batch comes in. 2. the L/S motors aren't designed for continuous duty...after about 3-4 continuous treatment cycles, they have to sit long enough to cool down or they'll burn out. The "Hold 'n' Treat" includes everything needed to run time the macerator, start the L/S, sense when it needs to "rest" and start the system again when the sensors indicate the motors have cooled down again. So while there are some things that technically savvy owners can reverse engineer and build themselves for less than it would cost to buy it, this ain't one of 'em. A L/S costs too much to risk frying it to save a few bucks.
