Dear Head Mistress, Are Lectrasan or simular marine sanatation systems legal anywhere on the inland waters of the USA? I am considering upgrading to one of these to reduce or eliminate pump outs. But not if it isn't legal on Inland waters I won't. Or what they call Zero Discharge Zones.

Unfortunately I don't think you can use one

All the Great Lakes and all non-navigable inland lakes are "no discharge" waters...toilet waste must be held for pumpout. The discharge of treated waste is legal on most of the river system, but some sections of rivers are "no discharge" waters. And "zero discharge" means just that...NO discharge of sewage, treated or not. Even in waters where the treated discharge from a CG certified device is legal, there are no waters in the US in which it's legal to dump a tank.
